Following a raft of new business wins, we’re looking for someone ideally with at least two years’ agency experience to join our fast growing team as an online PR and marketing officer to service both client and the agency. Ideally, you will have a good balance of both B2B and B2C experience but critically MUST possess a deep understanding of all elements of social media and online relationships.
The ability to build effective client relationships, provide strategic advice and deliver outstanding tactical implementation is essential, as is the ability to prepare and deliver winning new business proposals and recommendations. Excellent and flexible writing skills and an understanding of the key differences when writing for online content are a must and you should also possess a strong personality, creative mind and commercial acumen.

The role requires a clear knowledge and understanding of online marketing products, techniques and practices. Professional and personal participation in all social media channels including blogging, social networking, micro-blogging, UGC sites, forums etc. is a prerequisite.

The ideal candidate/geek will have a demonstrable passion for everything online and be able to successfully align creativity with delivering results for clients. You also need to be an experienced, web savvy writer and able to write predominately web content for our diverse range of clients. You’ll be a digital savvy wordsmith, active blogger, tweeter; the role will see you be instrumental in authoring our clients in house marketing and sales writing.
Key Responsibilities
- ‘Powering’ the social media channels of the agency and it’s clients
- Researching and producing a variety of web copy for our clients; from sections in websites to blog and twitter posts
- Write and edit copy for on and off-line documents
- Drive and manage the agencies promotion including award entries and delivering opportunities for press/editorial participation
- Research and write PR’able articles
- Able to write for different social media platforms
- Understand the principles of SEO and work with our SEO specialists to optimise copy
- Vary your writing style for different market sectors and clients
- Writing social media pitch/proposal documents
Skills and Experience:
- Previous web content writing and editing experience
- Experience setting up, writing and editing blog posts and other social media web sites
- Experience of writing copy for offline and online marketing collateral
- Experience of preparing for and writing responses to pitches
- Developed typing skills and the ability to produce fast, accurate work to a high level of presentation; (therefore also an ability to proof-read and correct own work)
- The ability to deal confidently and positively with team members and external clients both face to face and over the telephone
- The ability to work without supervision and prioritise the management of his/her own workload
Project management tasks
- Managing time allocated to projects, anticipating issues, dealing with problems and working towards a solution
- Manages activities and internal processes to meet deadlines
- Proving insight and feedback to the Account Manager and Marketing Director as the campaign progresses – highlighting problem areas, recommendations and success stories
Strategic Thinking
- Understand how the marketing communications plan for each campaign meets the objectives of the client and how social media can be used to execute the strategy
- Understand the link between client and business strategy
- Ability to creatively negotiate partnerships and develop relationships with partners, affiliates, influential blogs etc.
Communication
- Communicate effectively throughout the agency
- Build strong and constructive relationships with suppliers/partners
