Information Architect - Leeds
fuse8 are seeking to recruit an additional Information Architect as part of our user experience and innovation department to aid in the design of highly usable and intuitive websites, page and content plans and online applications. The successful applicant will be skilled in information architecture, user-centred design, XHTML/CSS and have a proven track record of delivering engaging online user experiences that ensure successful end user adoption.
You will primarily support the lead Information Architect in the structural design of search engine friendly web sites and interactive experiences for a variety of clients across numerous market sectors.
Responsibilities include
- Perform usability assessments of existing sites and conduct competitive research.
- Work with SEO specialists to produce optimised site plans based upon analysis of existing web sites and best practice search engine optimisation techniques.
- Define the information architecture depicting site structures, navigation systems and functionality through the production of detailed wireframe layouts.
- Work closely with the creative designers to translate wireframes into final screen designs that provide a compelling user interface and a positive end user experience.
- Work closely with developers during implementation to ensure a smooth transition of the interactive design into the completed website.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- A minimum of 2 years experience obtained working in an interface design or usability role, preferably obtained in an online digital agency environment.
- Have strong knowledge of best practice design principles and well developed skills in wireframe diagrams and creative visuals.
- Be proficient with Wireframing tools - preferably Axure, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Word and Excel.
- Have excellent working knowledge of XHTML, CSS, Jquery techniques and modern web standards.
- Have an understanding of best practice Search Engine Optimisation principles and techniques.
- Have a solid understanding of content management systems.
- A passion for the web, new trends in the industry and a desire to promote and achieve best practice within the team.
- Have good attention to detail and enjoy working within a busy team environment, as well as being able to work on your own.
- Strong communications skills and ability to build working relationships with project managers, developers, creative designers and external clients.
Desirable
- Have working knowledge of Flash.
- Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3
- An understanding of social media trends.
