UK Advisory Network - event management
ClientThe UK Advisory Network (UKAN) was established in 2007 by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) - the agency responsible for supporting organisations that wish to locate or grow their business in the UK and those wishing to export to overseas markets - to enable Government and private sector organisations to work closely together to better assist trade and investment.
ChallengeTo increase the level of support offered to companies looking to invest in the UK by creating a specialist network of companies that can offer business advice across a range of sectors including banks, lawyers and HR and recruitment specialists.
Solution
fuse8 is responsible for the recruitment of all Network members; initially this was from a target database collated in conjunction with UK Trade & Investment (UKTI). Almost two years later, the recruitment process is now driven by recommendation or invitation but fuse8 is still responsible for securing references from and establishing the suitability of all The UK Advisory Network (UKAN) applications.
In 2007, fuse8 successfully co-ordinated the Ministerial Launch of the UKAN at Lancaster House. This co-ordination included the management of the entire invitation process including dealing with the additional security measures, sourcing and liaising with third party suppliers, the production of invitations and supporting literature as well as a fully animated multimedia presentation to support Brian Shaw’s opening address.
Results
The UKAN events programme has grown significantly and now includes two annual networking receptions, regular round table discussions on topical issues and a number of smaller, and more specific group seminars.
fuse8 manage all these events including venue sourcing, management of the invitation process, organising catering and other external suppliers, and the production of event collateral.
Following a re-tender fuse8 has won the contract to continue to manage events for the UKAN until 2012 and has since had that contract extended to cover additional work including website development.
