Powered by Sprouts - viral marketing campaign
ChallengeWe wanted to produce a stand-out Christmas viral marketing campaign that showcased the breadth of skills within fuse8. The aim was to combine offline and online, involving fuse8’s clients and also any visitors to the fuse8 website.SolutionWe created an online game that revolved around the power of sprouts. We injected humour with a retro game that resembled the fairground classic, Arabian Derby. The game involved users throwing sprouts into holes to feed Father Christmas. He then ‘parped’ his way to the finish line. Users could log their scores in the leader board and share their times through social media channels. The set for the game was built using traditional craft techniques. To run alongside this we also developed a cut-out parp that was downloadable on the site, and also sent to clients. The aim being that clients could ‘parp’ people by holding up the cut-out and taking photos of people ‘parping’ in different situations.
Results
The campaign was very successful in showcasing the talent within fuse8. It was a truly integrated campaign that made people smile and created a memorable experience. The website was promoted by the immensely popular website FWA, which features the best websites on the internet. It was also featured on numerous blog posts about agency Christmas campaigns. The cut out parps were used by a variety of different people, and ‘parps’ were being sent in from as far away as Switzerland!
