fuse8’s front line web support technician, Josh Russell-Hobson, has been putting his skills to use for charity, with the creation of a conceptual gallery for noisefestival.com – the online arts showcase funded by the Arts Council that highlights the very best in creative talent from people aged 25 and under.
noisefestival.com is the only virtual showcase of its kind in Europe and was set up to help young people without connections in the creative industries get their work seen by professionals, peers and prospective employers across the media.
The showcase’s online gallery is Josh’s own creation and he’s particularly proud of the ‘colour gallery’ search option, which allows visitors to the site to browse through exhibits by colour.
Josh said: “The people at noisefestival.com approached me for ideas after seeing my end of year show at Uni. They wanted something conceptual and quirky and I think that’s what we’ve come up with.
“Browsing the gallery is inspired by the idea of sifting through photos, rather than the traditional concepts of searching through lists, and is as close as we could get to multi-touch technology.”
