fuse8 is celebrating after scooping two awards at the Chip Shops – an international design competition that recognises outstanding creativity.

The awards saw the fuse8 creative team batter the competition and bag both a chip (gold award) and vinegar (silver award) for their work.

Picking up the chip trophy was senior designer Matt McMillan, who won the ‘Best Use of a Shop Window Postcard’ category with his spoof shop window advert depicting online auction site eBay. The vinegar was awarded to designer James Foster in the ‘Best Consumer Advert’ category for his imaginative take on an advert designed for Henkel Duck Tape.

Speaking about the win, fuse8’s group creative director, Andy Hutchinson, said: “The Chip Shop Awards is one of the UK advertising industry’s most creative competitions and we are delighted to have won two awards.”

“Outstanding creativity is at the heart of everything we do and both Matt and James ably demonstrated this by doing us all proud at the awards ceremony.”

The Chip Shop Awards were set up to foster and recognise creativity without boundaries and are open to anyone with great ideas. This year’s award ceremony took place in Edinburgh and was attended by over 200 creatives from across the globe.

Since winning the Chip Shop award, Matt’s work has even been spotted internationally, with American website core77.com hailing it as a great example of top quality creative work.
