Brandin and Identity for Calderdale

Leeds-based marketing consultancy fuse8 has been awarded a substantial fee to develop and create a brand identity that will promote cultural diversity across the Calderdale region.

Called ‘everyone different, everyone matters’, the campaign aims to promote civic pride by encouraging people from each community in the area to embrace all cultural differences relating to age, race, religion, gender and disability.

Nigel Hunter, managing director at fuse8, said: “We are delighted to have been brought on board to help communicate this vastly important social relations scheme to key partners throughout the Calderdale region. The West Yorkshire area is home to some of the most diverse communities – each boasting its own unique qualities.

“In today’s multi-cultural environment it is crucial that the importance of integrating with one another is communicated in a manner that everyone can understand. Therefore, we aim to create a campaign with easily identifiable attributes and values, whilst engaging themes that encourage social cohesion across all areas.”

Calderdale has a number of very strong communities, each of which is immensely proud of where they live and boast varied social characteristics – an element that is important to share with everyone living in the district.

Nigel Hunter, fuse8 Managing Director said: “Both ‘everyone different’ meaning valuing people’s differences and ‘everyone matters’ referring to treating all people fairly, are extremely important values to Calderdale. Consequently, this campaign is a good way of putting these values into practice and spreading the message.

Research is underway at present, with the full launch activity planned for late May 2008.
