fuse8 appointed by UKTI
01/08/2008
Leeds-based marketing consultancy fuse8 is celebrating after being appointed by government organisation UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) to manage the UK Advisory Network for Inward Investors - an online network of UK-based private sector investors aimed at attracting and retaining overseas investment into the country.
The win - worth £215,000 in fee income alone - will see fuse8 assume responsibility for overall management of the network, which it originally created and designed the website for in 2007.
This will involve recruiting new members, facilitating ongoing two-way communication between the UKTI and network members, organising high-profile networking events and arranging quarterly round table discussions based on topical issues affecting inward investment.
fuse8 has also been tasked with further expanding the network to include two new departments - trade and overseas. The trade department will offer support to UK-based companies looking to trade internationally, whilst the overseas department will help to match foreign companies wanting to invest in the UK with local intermediaries able to offer the necessary support.
Nigel Hunter, fuse8 managing director, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed to undertake the ongoing management of such a prestigious project that will attract substantial and sustained investment into the UK.
“The experience we acquired whilst initially building up the network, combined with our proven expertise in effectively targeting and liaising with business audiences will allow us to position the network as a beneficial tool for promoting the UK as the premium location for investors in Europe.”
Mike Harvey at the UKTI, added: “In order for us to position the UK as the best place for overseas investment we recognise the important role our businesses can bring to the process. This network will bring the private sector closer to the government in promoting the country’s most compelling investment opportunities.
“fuse8 clearly demonstrated its aptitude when assisting in the implementation of the first phase of the project and we have no doubt that they are the ideal partner to further develop the network.”
