Chip Shop Award winners 2009

10/06/2009

We’re celebrating with lashings of Dandelion & Burdock and extra scraps after winning three gongs at the Chip Shop Awards, an international competition that recognises outstanding creativity in advertising.

We won a chip (gold award) and two vinegars (sliver awards) for our work at a superb presentation evening held for over 200 top creatives at hip London nightclub Fabric.

Picking up the chip trophy was creative director Mark Huddleston, who won the ‘Best Use of Regional Dialect’ category. His spoof ad for Barnsley Audi focused on the similarity between the pronunciation of the top-of-the-range Audi R8 suffix and a traditional Barnsley greeting.

Industry boys Mick Craven and Gary Delaporte bagged a vinegar award in the ‘Best Outdoor Advertising’ category for their B&Q ‘D.I.Y.I’ ad for Geordies whilst senior designer Matt Macmillan did the same with his work for abandoned greyhounds in the ‘Best Charity Advert’ category.
